FAWE's mobilizes financial, human and material resources for its programmes from various sources at the global, regional and national levels. At the national level, FAWE National Chapters raises funds from membership contributions, ministries of education, development partners, the private sector, communities. At the regional level, FAWE has a Donors' Consortium and is in the process of setting up an Endowment Fund.

The FAWE Endowment Fund was established in 2002. The purpose of the fund is to ensure long-term financial sustainability of the Forum for African Women Educationalists (FAWE). The initial targeted capital was set at US$15 million. With an endowment of $15million, it has been estimated that FAWE's programmes will be sustainable up to the extent of 30% of its programmatic requirements.
