FAWE Burkina
Faso Chapter was founded in February 1999 and has
a total of 164 members.
The Chapter has undertaken various sensitization campaigns on girls' education. Target audiences include school inspectors, primary school teachers and parents.
Girls' clubs
The chapter facilitates girls' club within Bobo Dioulasso District. The activities include: lectures/debates on the HIV/AIDS, sexually-transmitted infections (STIs), and challenges of adolescence.
CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
The Chapter in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the community has established a Centre of Excellence at Dipeo Primary School, Gaoua District aimed at creating a gender responsive school environment. The activities at the school have included
- In-service teacher training on Gender Responsive Pedagogy
- Provision of gender responsive infrastructure (Toilets, Library)
- Sensitization of the Community to support girls' access, retention and performance
