Africa Regional Funding Committee meeting

21 - 23 February 2017

FAWE in her capacity as chairperson of the Regional Funding Committee will participate in the meeting that will review the 2017 National Education Coalition (NEC) proposal and budgets for support through the Africa Civil Society Education Fund (CSEF). The meeting scheduled for 21—23 February 2017 in Accra, Ghana will also approve funding to support NEC for 2017. The meeting is under the patronage of Africa Network Campaign on Education For All (ANCEFA), a regional network that exists to promote, enable and build capacity of African civil society to advocate and campaign for access to free quality education for all. ANCEFA consists of independent coalitions or networks in 35 countries of Anglophone and Francophone Africa.

FAWE and ANCEFA have for the past decade partnered to influence and strengthen the overall capacity of national and local governments to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of education programs by including all stakeholders, such as state institutions, regional organizations, civil society organizations, the UN agencies and international development institution. The two organizations first formalized their partnership in 2014 and have since held joint initiatives (advocacy activities, reflections, research activities, and projects) to strengthen the capacities of National EFA coalitions and FAWE Chapters.
