Drogba foundation logoCôte d’Ivoire football star Didier Drogba has partnered with FAWE to mark the organisation’s 20th anniversary advocating for equal education for African girls and boys.

Mr Drogba will feature in television and radio spots in which he calls for support to FAWE in contributing to a better future for all African girls and boys. Didier Drogba will also provide financial support to an event to be organised as part of FAWE’s 20th anniversary celebrations in a French-speaking country to be decided at a later date.

A father of three, Mr Drogba is a keen advocate for effective parenting, good healthcare and quality education for African children. The footballer set up the Didier Drogba Foundation in 2007 to support better access to healthcare and education for people in Africa through advocacy, fundraising and provision of facilities for healthcare and education.

FAWE has welcomed Didier Drogba’s support for its goals and objectives. The organisation reached its 20th anniversary in September 2012 and is marking 20 years of working for equality and quality in education for African children with a series of events in various African countries over the coming months.
