A Global Compact on Learning: Taking Action on Education in Developing Countries

This report argues that there is a global learning crisis, which is affecting poor and marginalised children and youth the most. Many children are still dropping out before finishing primary school, and attending school has not automatically translated into learning. The report outlines three dimensions of the learning crisis: the lack of access to learning opportunities by many children and youth, the lack of attainment of foundational skills by students, and the fact that few children make it beyond primary school.
