FAWE's Action on the ground

Policy Advocacy
• Trained a core team to ensure gender mainstreaming in EFA NAPs
• A member of the national EFA Board
• Participated in development of EFA NAP.
• Participated in USAID course on resource mobilization

Community Advocacy
• In 2001, implemented its 3rd Girls' Education day " Radio and television shows on girls' education
• Articles on girls' issues in national papers

Interventions
 
  • Administers a bursary scheme for girls
  • Supports a vocational training centre for out-of-school girls in Makandiana village
  • Tuseme extended to many schools through Partnership with Plan WARO
  • FAWE's regional pilot project on HIV
