Education Brings Hope and a Bright Future to Ugandan Girls
Caroline “I was lucky enough to have been born in a family with a mother who knew the importance of education. Beside the fact that we were very poor, she insisted that my father took us all nine girls to school. After my father’s death, everyone in the village told my mother that she should get us married because she could not afford paying for our school fees anymore. All hope vanished. I was desperate because I wanted to pursue my studies. Then I met with FAWE.” Says 4th year law student at Makerere University, Caroline Kanyago Kalogala.

We mobilise financial, human and material resources for our programmes from various sources at the global, regional and national levels.

Financial support includes funding from donor agencies and other funding partners; donations from individuals, foundations and private business; and sponsorship of individual programmes or beneficiaries of our work.

Human support includes volunteering, internships, sharing of expertise and spreading the word on FAWE’s mandate and activities.

Material support includes donations of land and building materials for education facilities, teaching and learning materials, school equipment and installations; food stuffs for school feeding programmes; personal hygiene products; etc.

FAWE welcomes support from individuals, foundations, charitable organisations and private business.
